Dear Robyn,

SimplyinSeasonKickOff2_thumb.jpgThis letter is about thanking you and others for building a creation care movement in this region.

To start, I want to let you know what is happening with Simply In Season at St. Stephen. Currently, we have about 35 people (adults & youth) involved in Simply In Season groups. Some are meeting every week, others once or twice per month and two bible study groups are interested in doing it next year. We are very appreciative of the training you and your team conducted for us last summer.

We continue to follow up on congregational initiatives suggested by the Lutherans Restoring Creation program such as the current proposal to start a congregational fund to pay for energy efficient building infrastructure changes at St. Stephen.

Lastly, I don’t know how much you are involved in this but we have already met with MACG and energy Works and others around organizing for home weatherization among our church members and our neighborhood.

These and other creation care endeavors at St. Stephen are the fruit of the seeds you and many others planted over several years. You and they deserve to know about the fruit of your planting. Please pass along our thanks to the other organizers of this movement for God’s earth and God’s people.

Gratefully, Barbara Lindekugel Groelz
