Conversations for Building Community Power |
---|
Final Thursdays of the month, at 5:00 – 6:00 pm (PDT) 8:00-9:00 pm (EST on Zoom To be effective at bringing about greater justice in the world, good community organizing is built on the foundation of one-to-one relational conversations. Our communities do not have the power of the billionaires. But we do have the power of people, if we cultivate public relationships through which we can discover and act together on our shared values. To support ourselves in doing this, on the final Thursday of every month, EcoFaith Recovery invites you to gather on Zoom for an hour to spiritually ground ourselves, receive a short teaching on one characteristic of strong one-to-one’s, hear a story of when one of us experienced ourselves exemplifying that characteristic or failing to do so, reflecting together on a question the story-teller poses in response to their story, prayerfully fill out a worksheet identifying who you want to invite to have one-to-one’s with you during the coming week, and share your intentions in small groups. An additional optional 15 minutes will be available for those who want to reflect on how well the meeting achieved its goals and begin personally contacting the people who you hope to meet with during the coming month. Please email PastorRobyn@EcoFaithRecovery.org to receive the Zoom link and let her know if you would like to have a free spiral bound copy of EcoFaith’s One-to-One workbook (short version) mailed to you ( OR EcoFaith’s One-to-One Workbook for 6 months) |
