Trevor Boe is a seminarian and pastoral intern at First Lutheran Church of Waltham, Massachusetts, pursuing ordination with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA). Through a childhood of hiking, camping, and playing in the woods of his backyard in western Washington state, he has grown a deep sense of self rooted in and amongst the trees and waters of his home. He has lived abroad and traveled extensively in his teens and early twenties, earning his BA in International Relations from International Christian University in Tokyo, Japan where he took particular interest in classes pertaining to one of if not the defining issues of his generation, the climate crisis, and what governments around the world are doing to inhibit its progress.
Eventually, disillusioned by the lack of suitable change and accountability at the international governmental level, Trevor found himself called to a vocation that was based in and around community, living and working alongside neighbors that seek an interdependent relationship with something greater than themselves. He believes the EcoFaith Practicum will help discern and build up the tools and skills needed to build what the church must look like in the generations to come, in light of the intersectional crises of our current economic, political, and spiritual environment.
