MAY DAY STRONG: PEOPLE OF FAITH RISING
Join EcoFaith in turning out your community to the May Day Strong event nearest you
This May Day, people across the country are coming together to take action for a more just, life-giving future.
EcoFaith is a co-sponsor of May Day Strong because EcoFaith leaders believe this is an opportunity to live out our deepest values:
- to care for one another,
- to protect the most vulnerable, and
- to act together for the flourishing of all life and all peoples
WHY MAY DAY MATTERS
Across the country, people are rising together to say:
our communities matter more than profit
our democracy matters more than concentrated power
our future depends on how we care for one another now
To get the attention of those in power and demonstrate that there is still power in the people, on May 1 (International Workers’ Day), we are joining others across the country calling for:
- **No work**
- **No school**
- **No shopping**
Mass noncooperation takes coordination, training, and sustained effort. It takes all of us, talking to our neighbors, building relationships, and getting organized. And then, at a certain point, it becomes real and substantial enough to make mass change.
Noncooperation is simple in principle: we withhold our labor, our money, and our participation.
WE DON’T GO ALONG.
May Day has long been a day honoring the dignity of workers and the power of collective action.
This May Day, it is becoming something more: a moment to step out of isolation and into shared purpose.

A MOMENT OF HOPE
EcoFaith is a co-sponsor of May Day Strong, and we are joining this movement in a way that reflects who we are.
We are not just showing up to protest.
We are showing up to practice a different way of being together.
If you are a person of faith, consider being visible as a person of faith so that Christian nationalists are not the only voices speaking for faith-based communities.
We are committed to showing up in ways that reflect our deepest values:
- Nonviolence — We seek to de-escalate conflict and act with courage and compassion
- Grounding — We stay connected to our bodies, our breath, and what matters most
- Belonging — We look out for one another and make space for all people
- Moral Clarity — We stand for dignity, justice, and the flourishing of all life
This is how we embody the world we are working toward.
THIS IS NOT JUST A DAY OF ACTION. IT IS A MOMENT TO REMEMBER WHO WE ARE.
We belong to one another.
We are part of a living, interconnected world.
And together, we have the power to shape a future rooted in justice, dignity, and care.
