Hi EcoFaith friends,
Thanks to Solveig for sharing her story and encouraging action for PCEI. We might think that the dry wall crew arrives November 6th, but the reality is that they’ve already started their work given that ballots are out. So the time to act is NOW before they finish the entire kitchen!
Here are a couple of excellent opportunities this coming weekend to participate in this final push to get out to vote for PCEI. You’ll get a chance to meet folks from the frontline communities and to speak with your fellow citizens. I provide links to sign up below.
- Saturday, Oct 27th starting at either 10am or 1pm. Gather at the Sierra Club (1821 SE Ankeny).
- Sunday, Oct 28th also starting at either 10am or 1pm. Gather at the APANO Office (2788 SE 82nd Ave). Espero que van a tener pan dulce para comer!
If you want to do phone banking instead of canvassing, then stop by the Sierra Club Monday through Thursday from 4:30pm to 8pm. Also Friday 12pm to 3pm.
In case you need more motivation, here is the call to action from our fabulous field organizer Jessica Beckett.
We’re hopeful because we’re actively working and giving this campaign all that we can. Our team is working hard every moment of the day for these final days to make sure we’re all jumping with joy on the night of November 6th. We need your help to make sure that we’re celebrating that night. For both of these canvass events, we’re joining with the #NOon105 campaign and we’ll be talking to voters about both measures. Together, we must stand hand-in-hand to protect our state from unwelcoming hate, while strengthening our local communities.
Let’s blaze the trail towards climate justice in our city!
