It is amazing to me that we’re down to the last days before ballots are due next Tuesday, November 6th. We need to turn out the vote, as evidenced by having 9,300 residents who signed the Portland Clean Energy Initiative petition but have not yet voted.
Please volunteer to help us get out the vote. Here are the many options from which to choose.
- Friday: Canvassing from 12 pm to 3pm from the Sierra Club office (1821 SE Ankeny). Phone banking at the same times.
- Saturday: Canvassing starting at either 10am or 1pm from a location TBD.
- Sunday: Canvassing starting at either 10am or 1pm from the APANO Office (2788 SE 82nd Ave).
- Monday and Tuesday: Canvassing starting mid-day from the Sierra Club office. Phone banking starting mid-day both days until 8pm.
Let’s finish strong so that we can celebrate the achievement of this broad coalition at our EcoFaith event on November 13th at Augustana Lutheran Church (6pm to 8:30pm) You just might be the difference it takes to get PCEI passed!
Finally, we’ll be gathering with the campaign on election night at Portland Productions (1728 NE Glisan St) to watch the returns roll in in a combination of practices 5 and 7. The hours aren’t published yet, but I’m guessing a start time of 9pm since folks will be phone banking right up to the submission deadline.
